Our Openable Silicone Coated Fiberglass Sleeves are meticulously designed to offer superior thermal and fire resistance for cables, hoses, and piping systems that are installed in difficult industrial environments. Combining ease of use and optimal performance, these sleeves utilize a hook-and-loop closure enabling fitment to existing assemblies with no disassembly. Consequently, removal on any existing assembly is easy, and maintenance, retrofitting or emergency repairs can quickly be made with minimum downtime labor.
They are knitted E-type fiberglass yarns that are both non-combustible and thermally stable, and their unique construction forms air gaps in a diagonally chequered pattern (5mm at every 3mm) for easy self-cooling resulting in insulated performance while allowing flexibility. The entire surface is coated in a thick red silicone rubber layer that displays excellent resistance to heat, flame and molten metal splashes.
Key Features:
- User-friendly Hook-and-Loop Design: More suitable for in-situ applications that require no demounting of system components.
- Excellent Thermal Insulation: Air-gapped fiberglass weave allows heat to dissipate efficiently.
- Protection against molten splashes: Silicone sheds molten metal and prevents penetration.
- Flame reaction safety: When exposed to fire, silicone converts to a refractory SiO insulation layer.
- Highly durable & flexible: Maintains mechanical integrity under bending, compression, and extreme heat.
- Minimizes Thermal Transfer: Ideal for steam lines, hydraulic hoses, or other high-temperature systems.
These sleeves are a vital safety accessory for foundries, steel mills, glass manufacturers, power plants, and other high-heat facilities where worker safety and insulation are important.
